ODVSS Balloon Release well attended
In commemoration of the 16 Days of Action Opposing Violence Against Women, Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service (ODVSS) had a Balloon Release on the O'Connor Square in Tullamore on Thursday, 25th November in solidarity with one in five women who are experiencing domestic violence in Ireland.
The Tullamore event formed part of the first national balloon release which saw thousands of balloons launched at the same exact time from outside Dail Eireann, as well in towns and villages up and down the country.
The event aimed to raise awareness of domestic violence which continues to be a huge problem in Ireland today as the one in five statistic suggests. At a more local level Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service (ODVSS), would also see a growing uptake in its services. ODVSS would like to thank all those who attended.
